Vertical Wind Turbine
Vertical axis wind mills are a wind turbine with long collecting blades oriented vertically and typically the motor close to the ground as so more surface area exposed to the wind. The advantage being that they are easily serviceable. Because of their design they also do not need to be pointed towards the wind to be able turn and can collect wind from every direction. They also require very little energy to start spinning. However they are not as efficient but as mike reynold’s explains its like the story of the hare and the tortoise.
